Welcome to another Thailand Achievers Blog Hop! The theme for this month is: Occasions Catalog/Catalogue Sneak Peek. So follow along and check out all the other blogs in the hop (click on the names of other blog participants in the list below) so you can see a great collection of hand-stamped cards and paper crafting projects that show off new products that will be available January 4th in the new 2017 Occasions Catalog. Oh, the creativity you will see as you hop from blog to blog! Have fun.
One of the many great benefits of being a demonstrator is being able to view new catalogs early AND purchase products earlier than the general public. Following this blog hop will allow you to get peeks into what will become available soon. And if you need to get your hands on these products sooner than January 4th, you can do so by purchasing them in the Starter Kit. 😉
I am super excited that Watercolor Pencils are returning!! And this time the colors will coordinate with Stampin' Up! colors! These coloring tools are very easy to use. You may have seen me share them with you already in my December 7th Moon Baby card? If you go to that post (click here), you will see that card and a link that will lead you to a video I have on my Facebook page sharing how I made that card and showing the new pencils being used with a Blender Pen.
Today I'd like to introduce you to a new technique with the Watercolor Pencils AND to another new stamp set called All Things Thanks (available in wood-mount or clear-mount). It is one of those stamp sets I think every stamper should own – a great staple thank you set. The fonts are fabulous, the layouts of the words are artistic, and there are a variety of thank you phrases that come in it. There are a few other new products from the Occasions Catalog featured in this card, too: one of the Lace Doilies (vanilla side showing), a Falling In Love Embellishment, and some of the Very Vanilla 1/4" Satin Ribbon. (See the complete supply list below.)
In this card I used the Watercolor Pencils with an Aqua Painter and did a "watercolor wash" behind the sentiment.
This card is super quick and easy to put together. It was one of the team make-n-takes for our Online Team Event this month. Normally I don't share the videos I create for these events, but I decided it was time to update the sample videos on my information page about the training I offer my Stampers With ART community**.
Here is that video. I recommend watching it so you can see how I did the watercolor wash technique, get the details on what I used to create the card, and see how I put it together. But remember as you are watching it that I am addressing demonstrators in my team and not the general public.
I actually shared two versions of the card in that video. Which layout do YOU prefer?
Here are the supplies/tools I recommend using to recreate these cards. Remember that some of them will not be available until January 4, 2017 (unless you want to get them now through a Starter Kit order).
And as I mention in the video, you can substitute and use the Calypso Coral ink pad instead of the Watercolor Pencils, a paint brush instead of the Aqua Painter, Fast Fuse (or other tape runner adhesive) instead of SNAIL, and/or Jet Black StazOn Ink instead of the Basic Black pad. The All Things Thanks stamp set also will be available in wood-mount.
Thanks for checking out my blog today. Have fun on the hop. And remember to stamp your art out! 🙂
