On Tuesday I shared a bunch of projects I created with the September 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. But it’s the last Thursday of the month, so now you can be inspired EVEN MORE to “think outside your box” – your Paper Pumpkin box. #APaperPumpkinThing

Today is the day where several of us Stampin’ Up! demonstrators bring to you our special “A Paper Pumpkin Thing” blog hop. See what I have to share, then check out all the other blogs in the hop to see even more creative alternate ideas that we came up with using the contents of this month’s “Layered Leaves” Paper Pumpkin kit. To follow the hop, simply scroll down to click the “next” button or to click on the names of other participants in the hop.

This month’s kit is simply beautiful. Click here to see the August kit video put out by Stampin’ Up! where you can view how to make the intended cards and treat boxes.

This kit put me in the mood for Thanksgiving right away, and my mind went immediately to fall family gatherings. So I turned the pillow box into a flatware/napkin holder and used the card elements for decorating a treat box. Every guest should have a party favor. Right?

Tips:

  • Stamp the tags. Add twine and set aside.
  • Rub over the gold leaf sticker with a Bone Folder, then peel the outline sticker up and out carefully keeping the inside pieces intact. Pull from the outer tips of the leaf towards the center.

  • Cut a note card from the kit in half. Save the embossed half for decorating the top of the Pizza Box. Flip the other side over so the white side of the card is up, and die-cut a solid and a detailed leaf.

  • Peel the outside gold sticker area away from the remaining leaf sticker pieces, put a small piece of Press-n-Seal down on top, and rub the Press-n-Seal onto these remaining gold stickers using the Bone Folder. Flip this over and remove the sticker backing. Then transfer the gold sticker “inside leaf” pieces to the flipped over (brown side) solid die-cut leaf. Watch this video starting at the 25:30 minute mark so you can see how this is done.

  • Prepare your other leaf pieces by curling them slightly with a bone folder.

  • Slice off one end of the pillow box. Attach the curved scrap to the embossed card half and attach to the top of the assembled Mini Pizza Box.
  • Attach a cluster of leaf accents to the pizza box cover using a few Dimensionals under the gathered stems. Add a couple more Dimensionals on top of those stems, and add the stamped tag. Fill the box with shreddies and treats.

  • Fill the pillow box with the napkin and flatware. Add the tag and the die-cut solid leaf with adhesive and a mini clothespin.

  • Continue to add the trail of leaves by just inserting them underneath the tag or underneath each other. Glue dots on the stems are all the adhesive I used.
